One of my favorite things to do (on most years) is to handcraft a Christmas card for my friends and family. In years past, I've done linoleum block prints and intricate cards using various papers. When I got my Cricut Explore Air 2 this past fall and I realized how amazing it was - I started planning my card! I cannot believe I had not found this machine sooner -- especially since I have cut so many cards by hand over the years.
I knew, with the ability to do the intricate cuts, I was going to do a popup card. Vintage is always key for me during Christmas so I began looking for images. I found a really cool Santa and a pretty tree in the same style. My original plan was to cut them out on cardstock but when I gave it a try cardstock would not go through my printer. I ended up cutting the images out of paper, cutting ivory cardstock in the shape of the image and then glued the two pieces together. Needless to say, I'm in the market for a new printer! I was pretty pleased with the outcome (and so was everyone on my Christmas card list).
