Fall Leaf Garland

This leaf garland was my first paper project I did using my Cricut Explore Air 2. On about hour six of putting this together I did get the feeling that I might have bitten off more than I could chew. But, when it was finished, I was so pleased with the outcome. I also learned a lot along the way.

I used leaf images and an acorn available in Cricut Design Space. The leaf image numbers are Oak Leaf (#M1747892), Leaf (#M17478D7), and Maple Leaf (#M1747854). The acorn is (#M1747986). The acorn was meant to be a 3D acorn, but I deleted the scoring lines and just used the flat sides.

Each leaf was made up of 5 layers of paper and the acorns were 4 layers. I have to say I learned a lot about "weeding" to get all of those little dots and shapes out of the paper. I hot glued all the leaves along a medium width jute ribbon and hung the acorns with a thin jute ribbon. All in, I think I put about 16 hours of work into this piece. I packed it away very nicely so I hope it will survive for at least a few years!
