I was wasting time on Pinterest one day and came across the cutest birthday banner. My boyfriend's birthday was coming up and I thought it would be fun to make a banner to hang across the kitchen entryway. Of course, I'll come up with a variety of reasons to craft!! The inspiration pin can be seen here.
I used a variety of different papers and a sweet little ribbon I found at JoAnn. For the top layer of paper on each "flag", I adhered it with foam tape to raise it off the base layer. This gave it some dimension. I made a tissue tassel garland to complement the colors. Honestly, the tissue garland took much longer to make than the banner!
Needless to say, my boyfriend was very happy when he woke to this on the morning of his birthday. He liked it so much we left it up all month! We packed it away tightly so hopefully we will be able to use it for everyone's birthday throughout the year.
