Valentine's Day Decor

My obsession with crafting using my Cricut fully manifested for Valentine's Day this year. I think everyone thought I was nuts, but when it came time to take it all down I also think everyone missed it being there!!

The heart trees are definitely my favorite thing by far on the mantel. I had seen them on Pinterest (check it out) and knew I had to make them!! I just cut a bunch of hears in three colors of pink cardstock on my Cricut and glued following the instructions in the pin. I made the little garland by stringing small pom poms on white embroidery floss.

I bought the heart garland and the "LOVE" sign at Hobby Lobby. I also got the large pom poms and pink yarn at Hobby Lobby. I used a big quilting needle to string the pom poms.

I made the files for the conversation hearts with assets available in Cricut Design Space. However, I was inspired by a pin I had seen, of course! See it here. My design was a solid red heart in the back, then I cut the phrases out of the pastel cardstock and glued them together. It got a little tricky making sure I got the centers of the "o's, b's" and other letters in the right spots.

My favorite decoration overall in the house has to be the XOXO sign I made for the mudroom. I used various rolled flowers from the Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge in Design Space. I cut the flowers in the same three pinks I had used for the heart trees. Then I began rolling flowers at night while we were watching TV. It took me about four nights to get them all rolled. To make the actual sign, I stained a wood panel and painted pre-cut letters - both from Hobby Lobby. I cut a large heart out of red cardstock and then began gluing all my flowers onto the heart. My inspiration for the hearts is from this pin. There are tons of flowers in each heart. Check out the closeup picture.

Finally, I made a paper bouquet for my boyfriend's daughter. I used various flowers and hearts available in Design Space as well as the cute bumblebee (#M3C655). All in all, we had a very Happy Valentine's Day this year!!
